Member Profile – Michael Sewell, Wedding Photographer

Members No Comments »

One of the group’s busiest members is Michael Sewell who is a leading Lancashire wedding photographer.

He will photograph all aspects of your day in an unobtrusive style, capturing the spontaneity, emotion and excitement of your wedding. The aim is to create the perfect story of the day; a mixture of photojournalism, magazine style (posed) images of bride and groom and detail shots are necessary.

In particular he specialises in low light photography, which enables him to capture the colour and emotion during the evening reception. Make sure you look at the low light pictures on his website, www.weddingsbymichael.co.uk to really appreciate what he can achieve when the lights go down.

All albums are bespoke and contain over 200 surface mounted images, narrating the story of your day from start to finish, available in a choice of albums including Coffee Table Books and hand crafted Italian albums.

Michael even runs courses for other photographers – he’s that good!

We’ve just had a couple of good weeks with new business invoiced by the members of the group. Last week alone there was over £10,000 of new business done from introductions by the group. This week we hit an average of around £500 per attendee – worth getting up early for.

We’ve currently got vacancies for a printer, solicitor, mortgage broker, signwriter and several other professions. Feel free to get in touch and come and see what its all about – you may even walk away with a new dream client.

Michael E Gerber’s E-Myth prize for new business

News No Comments »

Every week we have a 10 mins speaker slot and whoever speaks brings a prize. The winner is drawn from the new business opportunities introduced that week. Its just a small token to recognise members and also to serve as a reminder about the speaker.

This week the leadership team organised a speed 1-to-1 to enable members and visitors alike to quickly find out about potential business referrals and build some trust with each other.

The prize was a hardback copy of one of Michael E Gerber’s classic E-Myth books, as recommended by our leading Preston accountant Roger Bessent. There was a quite a bit of interest in the book, click the picture for more details from Amazon.

1-to-1 business meeting leaderboard

One of the key elements of the BNI toolkit is the 1-to-1 meeting. A good meeting can drive extra referrals and more business, deepen relationships and trigger those moments of ‘I didn’t know you did that’. In turn leading to more business. We’ve just had a busy March with plenty of this going on and the new leadership team wanted to recognise the busiest members. Top of the table are Louise from Coxhead Cleaning Services and Jane from Winter Bookkeeping but a virtual round of applause to the biggest climbers this month – Jackie Williams of Primary Graphics and Mike Farrell of Utilities Warehouse.
